ART FAVINGER , PRESIDENT
Art has been plumbing since 1978. He attended the Associated Builders & Contractors Plumbing Apprenticeship Program in Denver, completing courses in plumbing as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
First certified as a journeyman, then master plumber in Colorado, he relocated to Bellingham in 1989 and started Favinger Plumbing. He also holds certifications for medical gas piping and backflow assembly testing. He has done consulting work at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, helped write legislation to regulate the licensing and education of plumbers in Washington State, and has been involved in numerous commercial and residential plumbing projects throughout western Washington.
A recognized industry leader, Art was elected president of the Washington Association of Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors in 1994. Four years later Governor Gary Locke appointed Art to the Washington State Advisory Board of Plumbers. In 2000 the board elected Art president, a position he held through 2003.
Art has been an active supporter of several local non-profit organizations and was a recipient of the Ken Gass Founder’s Award for work on behalf of children & youth in Whatcom County.
POLLY FAVINGER , SECRETARY
Polly graduated from the University of Denver in 1980 with a degree in English. Her first job was in library sciences helping to catalogue one of the first online information databases. In 1981 she went on to train others how to access and search for information using this new technology that involved connecting computers to telephones. In 1985 she left the world of high-tech to become a mother as well as a major support person at Favinger Plumbing.
Polly now works as one of the dispatchers as well as being in charge of accounts receivables and payables and general office and personal management.
In addition to her work with Favinger Plumbing, Polly was the apparel manager for Fairhaven Runners from 2002 to 2008 and currently serves on the board of the Greater Bellingham Running Club. She is a past PTA president and has served on Site Council at three different schools. Running is her passion and she gets out on the trails as often as she can.
KATHERINE GOLLEN, GENERAL MANAGER
A Ferndale native, Katherine came to Favinger Plumbing in March of 2000. Originally hired as a receptionist and bookkeeper, Katherine soon took on every additional task that came her way. In no time she was involved in purchasing, office management and in 2003 took charge of our warehouse.
SOPHIE BROWN, OFFICE ASSISTANT
Sofie joined the team at Favinger Plumbing in 2006 bringing over seven years experience in bookkeeping and data entry. She is "the assistant" of the company, with different job titles including office assistant, warehouse assistant, and dispatching assistant. Sofie spends a lot of her time working on different company spreadsheets and is currently assisting with some of the new barcoding technology that Favinger Plumbing is incorporating into their warehouse inventory. She is also a full time student majoring in accounting, and will be graduating from Western Washington University in 2009.
Sofie spends her time outside of work with her two year old son. They spend most of their time at different parks throughout Whatcom County and vacationing with family as much as possible. Lately Sofie has been learning how to wakeboard and enjoys any summer activity on the water. She enjoys exploring different trails around the community, however, during football season you will find her in front of a television watching the NFL and cheering for her favorite team.

Our team includes experienced and knowledgeable licensed plumbers and state certified trainees. Our trucks carry state of the art plumbing tools, drain cleaning equipment, cameras, and underground locating equipment. These “mobile warehouses” also carry a selection of water heaters, faucets, toilets, and enough material to complete most plumbing repair jobs.
